  • An Authorised Partner of BT

  3. Get invited to an initial discussion to learn about BT products, commissions, and compliance
  4. Submit an application nomination form into BT Business

Working with an authorised BT reseller such as Netify gives companies access to a wide range of BT products, from business broadband to BT Cloud Voice.

Let’s look at each step to help your business understand the best options for joining the Netify Reseller Programme of BT Business services.

What is the opportunity when reselling BT services?

Reselling BT offers access to the BT brand under strict guidelines, with the ability to sell upgrades, re-signs, and new services to your customers.

The ability to perform upgrades and re-signs is possibly the deciding factor for most businesses as they evaluate other telecoms reseller programmes. BT has such a high market share that your business is almost certain to encounter the opportunity to transact some form of business.

Unlike BT Wholesale, your business does not own the contract, support, or provide billing to your client. BT generates a unique Reseller ID (known as an ORCA code). Your business is paid a commission for making the sale; this is known as an agency-based business model.

What are the available BT Products and Services for BT Resellers?

BT Business Broadband (Solo and Bundles)

BT Broadband is available as two options with SoADSL, SoGEA, and FTTP.

BT Business Solo Broadband

Solo offers your customers the option to purchase internet-only broadband. BT Broadband is no longer provisioned over a standard phone line, meaning that broadband-only (Solo) is offered without a phone number or the ability to make telephone calls. Solo is a good option if your customer is using third-party services such as WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom.

BT Business Broadband Bundles

Customers requiring a landline telephone number and a calling package can order a BT Broadband bundle. Bundles consist of broadband with BT Cloud Voice Express, a pre-packaged option provided with a Yealink cordless handset (or Cisco desk phone), an app to manage calling options, and a call plan offering unlimited calls to UK landlines and mobiles.

BT Broadband Package Features

BT Broadband is available with the following feature packages:

  • Ultra – includes Cisco Meraki cybersecurity and comprehensive Wi-Fi capabilities to offer SME broadband customers enterprise network security options.
  • Pro – includes Complete Wi-Fi boosting discs, Prompt Care for faster fix times, and Wi-Fi controls for better guest and user security.
  • Enhanced – includes 4G failover.
  • Essentials – basic broadband service features.

BT Broadband Features Include:

  • Smart Hub 2 or Smart Hub 3 (FTTP only)

Research potential BT-authorised partners or distributors

Your business will work with an assigned Partner Manager, BT Cloud Voice Specialist, and BT Data Specialist, along with admin resources provided by the partner or distributor. BT-authorised partners have expertise across BT connectivity services, making them a good choice for business communication needs.

When researching your potential BT-authorised partners or distributors, an important step in joining the Netify BT Reseller Programme, we recommend considering the following:

  • Product knowledge – your business and salespeople will need to develop an understanding of BT products, which includes unified communications and security services, to provide the right solution.
  • Compliance and Guidelines – you should expect to receive guidance and direction regarding BT’s brand, anti-bribery policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Order placement – understanding how to place orders, handle sales, and manage lead times is essential to day-to-day operations.
  • Order management and reporting – tracking order progress and understanding connectivity service delivery is key.
  • Commissions – ensuring transparency in commission payments and statements at the end of each month.

Choosing a BT-authorised partner or distributor should be based on experience and structured processes that help you sell BT Business products and services.

Understand expertise in product training, administration, and reporting

The BT Business portfolio is continually evolving with new products and services. Recent updates include the Broadband Pro package, which offers EE Business 4G failover, enhanced WiFi signal strength, and quicker fix times via BT Prompt Care.

Broadband services can also be bundled with Cloud Voice Express, a solution replacing a single phone line with additional features. As customer requirements grow, the full Cloud Voice product supports three or more users and integrates with broadband or BTnet leased lines, offering up to 10Gbps bandwidth.

Product training is a key factor in reseller success. Resellers that do not fully engage with training may struggle. It is essential to analyse and access training resources available through Netify or other BT-authorised partners.

The Netify Norwich office is launching a BT Business Reseller training facility to provide in-depth education on BT products and services.

Apply to your chosen BT-authorised partner or distributor

After deciding to join the Netify BT Reseller Programme, the next step is to complete an application. The process typically follows these stages:

  1. Register your interest with Netify or another BT-authorised partner.
  2. Submit an official application for review.
  3. Sign compliance-related documentation, including anti-bribery agreements.
  4. Receive confirmation and reseller credentials.

Attend an initial Microsoft Teams or Zoom call

Once your application is reviewed, an onboarding call will be scheduled to discuss the ordering process and product training. While there are no specific costs or criteria to join the programme, your business is expected to commit to training and product knowledge.

The onboarding call is an opportunity to discuss your business model, understand reseller benefits, and clarify commissions. The partner will guide you through BT products and the guidelines for selling them.

Complete onboarding and understand processes

Onboarding covers several key areas, including:

  • Order placement – how to correctly place orders through your authorised partner.
  • Order process – checking product availability and customer status.
  • Order reporting – tracking orders and ensuring completion.
  • Product training – learning how BT services add value to customers.
  • Commission process – understanding commission structures.
  • Brand usage – how to correctly position your business as a reseller.

Ongoing training will help you keep up with changes to the BT portfolio.

Earn commission from selling BT Business Broadband, Cloud Voice, and leased lines

The Netify BT Reseller Programme is commission-based, allowing resellers to generate revenue from BT product sales. Customer support, billing, and contracts are managed by BT, while commissions are based on sales order value (SOV). Commissions are typically paid monthly after services go live.

What is the difference between becoming a BT partner and a BT reseller?

We do not discourage businesses from pursuing BT Partnership, but it requires meeting certain experience and revenue criteria. BT Partners must meet annual targets, and failure to do so can result in termination.

Joining as a reseller via Netify is a more accessible option. Resellers benefit from partner experience and processes without the burden of direct BT targets.
